Welcome to The County Competitions News Page The County Finals were held over the Weekend of 28th - 30th March 2008. All matches were keenly contested and the players are to be commended on the standard ofg bowling. One of the highlights was the Mixed Pairs where Ryan Atkins (13 ) ably controlled by Jean Meek beat last year's winners Jean Groves and Peter Bryan. Mark Atkins was successful in the Pairs with Brian Whitecombe, the Triples with Brian Whitcombe and Colin Hall and completed a hat-trick by beating Adrian Burbridge in the Singles to win the trophy previously presented to the Association by his father. It was obvious that this meant a lot to him and he is to be congratulated. He was thanked by the President, Bob Niblock, for his work in organising the competitions during the season. |
